Full video was on our local news. The grandmother had a fit about being ticketed, both officer & grandmother shouted & shoved eachother. The officer tasered her when he could have taken her down by hand. He was huge, she was small. They were two of a kind butting heads. He was trying to gain control & she wouldn’t allow it, so he let her have it. Despite her belligerent behavior & reckless driving, due to her age & possible mental problems, he should have taken the high road.

This is what a lot of people don’t get about tazers… they are safer than taking down by hand. If you take someone down by hand you risk breaking bones and skin lacerations. A tazer is really a lot less painful long term, especially given their relative sizes. I’m not saying he was right to tazer her… that will be up to the DA, what I am saying is that if he was right to subdue her, a tazer was not necessarily the “low” road.
